TU Delft Open Publishing has partnered with IOS Press
As of 1 June 2023, IOS Press and TU Delft OPEN Publishing have committed to a partnership to co-publish books and make these available with Open Access. One such book, The Fluid Dynamic Basis for Actuator Disc and Rotor Theories: Revised Second Edition, has already been published and is available in the TU Delft Open Access catalogue and on IOS Press Ebooks.
Books published by IOS Press from 1 June 2023 in which TU Delft authors appear in the role of lead author, co-author or editor-in-chief will qualify for Open Access funding from TU Delft OPEN Publishing provided certain conditions are met. The Open Access license will be Creative Commons CC BY (by default) or CC BY-NC. IOS Press will also publish a print edition of these works.
IOS Press is an independent international scientific, technical, medical (STM) publishing house established in 1987 in Amsterdam. They publish around 90 journals and 70 books annually in a broad range of subject categories, primarily specializing in biomedical and life sciences (including neurosciences, medical informatics, cancer research, rehabilitation) and physical sciences (including computer sciences, artificial intelligence, engineering). In addition, they offer specialized services that support scientific advancement.
This new partnership will last from 1 June 2023 to 1 August 2024 with the option to extend it after an evaluation by both parties.
Open Access publishing is an important strategic goal of TU Delft and one of a number of resources and services provided by TU Delft Library to the TU Delft academic community. TU Delft OPEN Publishing hopes that these collaborations and successful experiences will lead the way for more publishers in a wide range of disciplines to collaborate in opening up more academic work. TU Delft has been leading the way in open science, with the Strategic Programme Open Science 2020-24.
