Expansion DelftBlue ready for use in January 2024

We are happy to announce that the expansion of supercomputer DelftBlue is underway. The implementation of this second phase is on schedule. The hardware has been delivered by Fujitsu, installed in the datacentre and hardware tests have been performed. Functional tests and benchmarks will be carried out in the coming weeks. We expect the expansion to be available for users at the start of the new year.

In phase 2 of DelftBlue will get 75% more computing power. To be exact. We are adding: 

• 90 compute nodes with new-generation processors and 256 GB memory 
  2x Intel Xeon Gold 6448Y 32 Core 2.1 GHz
   
• 10 GPU nodes with the latest Nvidia GPU’s and 512 GB memory
  4x A100 GPU’s with 80GB memory
