Prof. Chiara Bisagni ‘Cavaliere’ (Knight) in the Order of the Star of Italy
Professor Chiara Bisagni has recently been appointed ‘Cavaliere’ (Knight) in the Order of the Star of Italy by the president of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, because of her work in the Scientific Committee of the Italian Embassy in the Netherlands and her activities to stimulate collaboration between Italy and the Netherlands.
According to the official letter Professor Bisagni received from the Italian Ambassador Giorgio Novello, she distinguishes herself for having actively and effectively contributed to the consolidation of the relations of the Embassy with Dutch universities and with the community of Italian researchers in the country. “You are among the most proactive members of the Embassy's scientific committee and have promoted initiatives that have significantly amplified the dissemination of Italian scientific excellence in the Netherlands and improved relations between the Italian, Dutch and international scientific communities. You are also considered a model here for your work to promote diversity, equity and inclusion, especially with regard to female participation in engineering faculties and, in general, in scientific research.”
Chiara Bisagni: “Being awarded the honour of Knight in the Order of the Star of Italy is an unexpected recognition. It moves me and gives me great joy. It will make me even more motivated than before to promote scientific initiatives between our countries”.
The Italian Ambassador, Giorgio Novello, will hand over the insignia and the certificate to Professor Bisagni personally, in the name of President Mattarella.
