Prof. Georgios Smaragdakis, head of the Cybersecurity Section, was named Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Distinguished Member for "Outstanding Scientific Contributions to Computing".
The ACM Distinguished Member program recognizes each year "ACM members with at least fifteen years of professional experience who have made significant accomplishments or achieved a significant impact on the computing field".
This year's class of 67 ACM Distinguished Members were affiliated with leading universities, corporations, and research institutions worldwide and made advancements in many areas of computing, including computer science theory, systems design and engineering, artificial intelligence, security and privacy, and education.
