Maurice Krielaart (ImPhys) has been awarded a coveted Rubicon grant by NWO.
The Rubicon grant enables young, promising researchers to do research at a top institution abroad. For many scientists, experience in a foreign country is an important step in their career.
This is the AS researcher who received a Rubicon and the research he will be doing with it:
What kind of light does an electron emit?
Who?
Dr. ir. M.A.R. Krielaart (Maurice), Delft University of Technology
What
Researchers are investigating if the generation of light from a single electron behaves in a predictable and consistent manner. For this they pass fast electrons nearby surfaces, and carefully analyse the quantum mechanical properties of the resulting light.
Where?
United States, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
