Annoesjka Cabo appointed Director of Education
From 15 July 2021, Annoesjka Cabo is appointed Director of Education at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. She succeeds Geert-Jan Houben who, as Pro Vice Rector Magnificus, will focus on leading the activities of the TU Delft AI Initiative.
Vision on talent development
From her broad experience as a maths lecturer, Academic Director of the Teaching Academy and Director of Interfaculty Education, Annoesjka has dedicated herself for many years to make education more flexible and personalised with new techniques. Lucas van Vliet, Dean of the EEMCS Faculty, describes Annoesjka as a connecting, driving force in the field of educational innovation. ‘With all the knowledge and experience she brings, Annoesjka has a unique vision on talent development and a broad view on university education. I am sure that in the coming years she will get the most out of our teachers and students.’
About
Annoesjka Cabo studied Mathematics at the UvA and obtained her PhD at TU Delft in Stochastic Geometry applied to Image Analysis. At the same time she completed her training as a violinist. As a violinist, she played with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, among others, and is active in chamber music and as a violin pedagogue. After teaching subjects such as Calculus, Linear Algebra and Probability and Statistics for a while, Annoesjka is currently Academic Director of the Teaching Academy and Director of Interfaculty Education. In her research she develops mathematical statistical models for educational research and applies them to the practice of educational innovation in PRIME (Programme of Innovation in Mathematics Education) with the aim of improving Engineering Education.
