Visit TU Delft campus virtually
A lot of our alumni like to come back to campus for a trip down memory lane and to find out what is new at the Mekelpark. They do so by attending alumni events, backstage tours or by joining a reunion. Right now, many facilities and buildings are closed and there is very little activity on campus. But there is a way to stroll around our campus from the comfort of your own home.
TU Delft Alumni Relations listed four ways to visit the campus digitally.
Various buildings of the TU Delft campus
Startup Science normally organises tours where you can get a look behind the scenes at various parts of the campus. Since this isn’t possible at the moment, they now offer an online tour instead. You can visit almost all of our buildings virtually and you can watch the videos to learn more.
Four hidden gems of TU Delft
To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Science Centre Delft has created a virtual tour of four undiscovered places on the TU Delft campus (in addition to the more general virtual tour).
Watch the 360-degree film; 4 Hidden Gems from TU Delft to find out what is on top of the EWI building and where the oldest books of TU Delft are kept. To learn more about the history of microscopy, you can visit VLLAIR from Applied Physics. More interested in drones? Then make sure to visit the Cyberzoo.
In addition to the more general digital tour, Science Centre has made a virtual tour of four undiscovered places on the TU Delft campus to celebrate their tenth anniversary.
Visit TU Campus in the game Minecraft
Because all activities on campus stopped in early spring 2020, the campus was built in the virtual world of the popular game "Minecraft". Do you have a Minecraft account and do you want to explore the campus? You can! In front of the Aula you will find three characters that will bring you to the Campus Tour, the secret building plots and the survival mode. Just talk to them and they will take you there. You can find further instructions here.
The Green Village tour: climate-adaptive city
The climate is changing. In the summer, residents of the Netherlands are increasingly faced with extreme drought and heat, alternated with large amounts of rain in a short time. The climate-adaptive city is about making the city climate-proof.
The Green Village made a tour about the climate adaptive city. In this tour, experts explain innovations at the “WaterStraat” and “HittePlein” and show how they contribute to a climate-proof city.
