Successfull Roundtable about Human-Centered AI Systems
When talking about artificial intelligence, Human-Centered AI Systems is a theme which is discussed a lot. Last Monday researchers of most of the TU Delft faculties joined an online Roundtable to share their knowledge and start new initiatives.
The theme Human-Centered AI Systems is about artificial intelligence in which research into a.o. human-machine interaction, computer science, systems engineering, psychology, work and organization, design, law and policy, ethics and philosophy, political economy, and a wide range of application-specific domains come together. Questions that emerge from these intersections include how people can interact with AI systems and how these can understand each other’s behavior (better); how we can learn to trust AI systems; and how we can (better) predict and control development of AI systems within various contexts.
Human-Centered AI Systems at TU Delft
AI research and education at TU Delft is characterised by ‘with-AI’ areas of application, including AI for Energy and Sustainability, AI for Health and Care, AI for Port and Maritime, AI for Security, Peace and Justice and (inter)disciplinary perspectives, such as Human-Centered AI Systems and Machine Learning. The characteristics of Human-Centered AI Systems offer many opportunities to develop or increase collaboration between the scientific disciplines and faculties. The well visited Roundtable on April 12th proves the significance and latitude of this area of research at TU Delft.
