New MSc educational programmes and electives on AI, data & digitalisation
With the start of the new academic year the TU Delft has considerably extended the number of educational programmes on AI, data and digitalisation. The Department of Cognitive Robotics will launch its new MSc Robotics programme next week. This programme is situated at the intersection of mechanical engineering and AI. Robotics Engineers will provide an important contribution to the strengthening and acceleration of the robotisation of our society. Over at Computer Science the new track Artificial Intelligence Technology will start. In this specialisation the algorithmic foundations of AI systems will be covered – with topics from both machine learning and intelligent algorithms – as well as foundational topics in system and software engineering and data management.
For students from other disciplines there is a broad range of electives on (applied) AI to choose from. Master students from all TU Delft faculties can complete up to 15 EC of their programme within the fields of (applied) AI, data science and digitalisation. For the new academic year the university has set up a dedicated elective which provides a backbone for existing electives on (applied) AI. This course on Applied Machine Learning is provided by shared efforts from the faculties CEG, EEMCS, IDE, AE and TPM. It is only available in the first quarter this academic year. In combination with other AI-related electives this course provides an ideal stepping stone for students who wish to incorporate AI in their thesis project.
