Future thinking for historical Studieverzameling
For more than fifty years the basement of the low-rise part of building-36 is home to “objects that are of an electric origin”. Throughout the past decades, this collection of objects has evolved into the present Studieverzameling(Study collection). Past September, the faculty has initiated a study for a future-proof course of this assortment including computers, electron tubes, and oscilloscopes.
The past
The opening of building-36 in November 1969 marks the beginning of the Studieverzameling. Instigated by the first exhibition and driven by expertise and enthusiasm, involved TU Delft employees have gathered a diverse variety of mainly electro technical objects. The field has seen big developments in a relatively short period of time, which can be observed during a stroll through the basement of the low-rise.

…and the future
The faculty EEMCS, the Keldermannen, heritage experts, and additional stakeholders are involved in mapping (the realisation of) the present collection, the different scenarios for the future, and what is needed for a sustainable arrangements for and organisation of the Studverzameling. For the time being, anyone interested can visit the Studieverzameling every Monday 10:00 – 16:00 in the basement of the low-rise, entrance just beyond DEMO.
