Prasanth Venugopal 2nd prize from IEEE IAS for the PhD thesis

The IEEE Industry Applications Society Student Thesis Contest is meant to recognize the world’s best emerging academic work on the scope of the Industry Applications Society. Second prize for best thesis this year (2019) is awarded to PhD thesis of  Prasanth Venugopal entitled “Magnetic Energy Transfer in Roads” supervised by Prof. Pavol Bauer & Prof. Braham Ferreira.

The scope of the Industry Applications Society is the electrical and electronic engineering electrical systems, apparatus, devices and controls to the processes and equipment of industry and commerce; the promotion of safe, reliable and economic installations; industry leadership in energy conservation and environmental, health, and safety issues; the creation of voluntary engineering standards and recommended practices; and the professional development of its membership.

 

The first prize won thesis from National University of Singapore (NUS) and the third prize University of Wisconsin – Madison (USA).
