In January, Delft University Fund launched the crowdfunding platform supporttudelft.nl The platform was launched with four inspiring projects, all aiming to impact society. Two campaigns are now closed and the student teams are excited to move ahead.
‘We have been live for about six weeks now, and we can already conclude that many researchers, students and the ‘crowd’ are pleased that crowdfunding is now a real possibility for acquiring extra funds, awareness and public involvement’, says Jacqueline Leemkuil, contact person and coordinator for the crowdfunding platform.
Make us March
The Make us March campaign has reached 76% of its target, which equals to a total amount of €7.665. With these donations, Project March can start to fulfil their mission: to make paralyzed people walk again. The team aims to realize a brand new exoskeleton in the summer 2018.
Engineers for Refugees
Engineers for Refugees campaign has raised a total of €5.182 (49%). Student Bente Kamp, of Engineers for Refugees, is satisfied with this result ‘The crowdfunding campaign actually helped us to reflect on our own project: why do we do it / where does the money go to, etc. We also really enjoyed the personal comments the donors wrote on the crowdfunding platform. Crowdfunding gave us a huge boost to communicate even better why we are so committed to work on this project and to reach our goals’.
Ongoing projects
The projects Make motorcycling greener and Purified water in India are still ongoing. Visit our platform supporttudelft.nl to see the latest updates.
