Daan Brinks accepted a zero-hour position as principal investigator at the Erasmus MC
To strengthen the collaboration between Imphys and Erasmus MC, Daan Brinks has accepted a zero-hour position as principal investigator in the Molecular genetics department of Erasmus starting November 15.
Shortly after his start at TU Delft, Daan has initiated a close collaboration with this department which has led to the collaborative development of an imaging system for high resolution optogenetic stimulation in brain and cancer biopsies. This system is now installed at Erasmus MC.
His future collaborations within the department will focus on implementation of this instrument in a pipeline for cancer diagnosis and therapy, on further development of imaging and optogenetic technology, and on their applications in understanding the neurodegenerative and tumorigenic aspects of aging. The creation of this formal position will make it easier to bring Imphys technology to clinical practice.
