Team Laced Horns wins Drone Clash

News - 13 February 2018

On 13 February 2018 eight teams competed in the DroneClash competition at Valkenburg airport. The teams used their own drone(s) to take down as many other drones as possible and  avoid a whole series of anti-drone interventions. The competition was won by Team Laced Horns, made up of people from the University of Twente’s Robotics and Mechatronics Lab and the company Clear Flight Solutions (known for its ornithopter ‘robirds’). The TU Delft team from the MAVLab was awarded the prize for most innovative team. They tried to hack their opponents.

DroneClash was organised by the Micro Air Vehicle Lab at TU Delft and RoboValley and was supported by the Dutch National Police Corps and the Ministry of Security and Justice. Organiser TU Delft Bart Remes: “To incorporate drones in our lives in a good and safe way, we need anti-drone instruments.” The competition will give new knowledge and insights into the safe use of drones in society.
