Aerospace students finish top in Best Graduates competition
Two master’s students from the Faculty have taken 2nd and 4th place in the Best Graduates Network competition.
Sanne Lamers and Edze Algera took second and fourth place respectively, in the competition sponsored by ASML, Fugro and others. The competition looks for top talent among graduate students aiming to graduate in 2020 at the latest. Applicants were invited to a conference in April where they had the opportunity to meet with the various companies involved. Those companies invited their choice students to a day at the company to experience the business culture. Each participating employer then selected a finalist, who went on to compete for the final award.
Lamers was selected by Strategy& and received a trip around the world for her prize and Algera was selected by ING and will now have the opportunity to join ING on one of its projects with UNICEF.
“I’m hoping to visit Iran, India and Argentina. I lived in Argentina before but my mother never got to visit, so I hope she will join me,” said Lamers.
Both students agreed the competition is a great opportunity. “It’s a low barrier for the application process and you get to meet a lot of different companies,” said Algera.
