Veni awarded to Cynthia Liem

NWO heeft de Veni-laureaten voor 2018 bekendgemaakt. NWO has announced the Veni laureates for 2018. Among them are seven scientists from TU Delft. One of the seven is Cynthia Liem, her subject is Recommendations for perspective broadening.

Recommendation systems have become necessary to guide users through large digital collections. Contemporary recommendation algorithms strongly focus on the repetition of previously observed successes, leading to unwanted perspective narrowing. This project therefore examines alternative recommendation algorithms that function as curators, and encourage gradually increasing digital perspective broadening in the collections.
