DEWIS Diversity & Inclusion Award

News - 10 January 2018

Karel Luyben and Anka Mulder have been presented with the ‘DEWIS Diversity & Inclusion Award’. Both members of the Executive Board have made a huge contribution to increasing gender diversity and equality at TU Delft.

Karel defended the Delft Technology Fellowship tooth and nail before the Equal Treatment Commission, thus ensuring that this programme has been able to attract top female talent ever since 2012. He was actively involved in DEWIS and presented the DEWIS PhD Award at the DEWIS symposia in his capacity as chair of the Selection Committee.

Thanks to Anka, our Executive Board has been gender-diverse since 1 April 2013. Anka is an exemplary role model, and this earned her a place in the Opzij Top 100 list of the most influential women in the Netherlands. She experienced the importance of female networks for herself, and took the initiative to create a network of female directors and professors at TU Delft.

DEWIS will be presenting this Award annually to the staff member/department/faculty that has made an extraordinary contribution to gender diversity & inclusion.
