Climate installations can be designed to create a healthy and comfortable indoor environment, while also maintaining a good energetic and economic balance. Professor of Indoor Environment Philomena Bluyssen has described how this can be achieved in the new concise guide ‘What you have to know about climate installations’.
Air conditioning is an example of the negative image of climate installations. Supposedly, air conditioning would make us less tolerant towards temperature changes, the installations produce background noice, draught, and polluted air, and they require a lot of energy and maintenance. The guide shows how these issues can be dealt with. As such, the recommendations and information are applicable for architects, contractors, advisers, and students. Climate installations for different situations are described, from living environments to schools and offices. Learn more about the book here (Dutch only).
