Degree Programme Assessment MSc Geomatics
On 20 and 21 June, the degree programme assessment of MSc Geomatics took place. In anticipation of the full report, the review commission said to be impressed with the quality of the master, praising both the graduation work, the master’s structure and the students’ enthusiasm. Additionally, they found Geomatics graduates’ careers to be well aligned with both the topic and the level of the master.
The master could be further strengthened by making the relationship between Geomatics and the field of architecture and the built environment more explicit, as well as by attracting more Dutch students to the master programme. This can for instance be achieved by incorporating topics related to geomatics in the faculty’s bachelor programme.
The assessment was carried out by QANU. The review commission consisted of:
Prof. R. Billen, department of Geography, Université de Liège (België) [chairperson];
Prof. dr. N. van de Weghe, Geomatics, Universiteit Gent (België);
Dr. R. Zurita-Milla, associate professor Spatio-temporal analytics, Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), Twente University;
Dhr. ir. R.M. Kathmann, managementteam, Waarderingskamer;
L.E. Prins, masterstudent Geo-Information Science, Wageningen University & Research [student member].
