Kunstmatige intelligentie is niet meer weg te denken uit onze maatschappij. Denk aan ChatGPT, geautomatiseerd rijden en diagnoses stellen in de zorg. Defensie gebruikt het ook, onder meer bij  beeldverwerking en luchtverdedigingssystemen. Bij deze toepassingen is menselijk toezicht nodig. Luitenant-kolonel ir. Ilse Verdiesen onderzocht hoe dat vorm kan krijgen. Op 3 april promoveerde zij op dit onderwerp bij de TU Delft.

Op 9 maart deelt Jeroen van den Hoven het podium op SXSW met Staatssecretaris Koninkrijksrelaties en Digitalisering Alexandra van Huffelen, SAS data ethics lead Reggie Townsend en Brigitte Tousignant van Hugging faces in Texas om het belang van ethische AI te bespreken.

He now focusses on the ethics of influence and the concept of manipulation. His goal is to understand positive influence and distinguish it from negative influence, crucial in the design of new (automated) technology and for our social well-being.

The Information Academy is an initiative of the Government Commissioner for Information Management Arre Zuurmond, and aims to become a leading knowledge platform, contributing to solutions to social issues through research and innovation, as well as education and assurance. This platform aims to realize a proactive, responsive government through decision-making based on information and knowledge, and a government of which its information management is future-proof. The Information academy aims to achieve this through an education programme for Dutch civil servants.

This year's Van Hasselt Lecture at TU Delft was delivered by philosopher Samuel Scheffler (NYU). During Scheffler’s stay in Delft, the Delft Digital Ethics Centre organized a workshop on Values and Valuing in Virtual Life with Samuel Scheffler as guest of honor.
