The overarching question behind all projects of the Lotte Asveld Group is how to organise Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) for biotechnology? The core of the concept of RRI is the integration of societal values and goals into innovation trajectories. This can imply an intense involvement of societal actors in innovation trajectories, but it might also imply specific institutional mechanisms, such as regulation and subsidy schemes. In our projects we consider a wide variety of actors and settings, including academic researchers, companies and political and public management actors and institutions.
