Education

The Department of Biotechnology faculty members contribute to several bachelor (BSc), master (MSc) and post-master (EngD) programmes. The long-standing alliance between TU Delft and Leiden University has led to the provision of joint undergraduate programmes (LST and MST).

Besides BSc, MSc and EngD programmes, we provide post-graduate education through the Foundation BioTech Delft. More information on these courses is available at http://biotechnologycourses.nl.

In collaboration with the Foundation BE-Basic, the department has produced a Massive Open Online Course on Industrial Biotechnology. The course can be accessed here.

Post-MSc programmes

EngD programme

As a post-master programme, we offer 2-year Engineering Doctorate (EngD) programme under the name "Designer in Bioprocess Engineering". In the first year of this EngD programme, trainees follow courses and carry out group design work. In the 2nd year, trainees carry out an Individual Design Project in close collaboration with industry.

BioTech Delft

BioTech Delft organises biotechnology education at postgraduate level. BioTech Delft is coordinated from the department of Biotechnology of Delft University of Technology. Since its foundation, in 1987, BioTech Delft has very successfully organised various types of postdoctoral education.
