PARSEC -Parcel and Letter Security for Postal and Express Courier Flows

Dutch Principal Investigator: TU Delft researchers dr. Boriana Rukanova, prof.dr. Yao-Hua Tan, dr. Jolien Ubacht
Planned period: October 2022- October 2025

Project summary: PARSEC develops solutions that use non-intrusive detection technologies to fight the abuse of postal and courier flows for criminal and terrorist purposes.

About the project

PARSEC is a project about parcel and letter security in the context of postal and express courier services. The project delivers an ambitious set of solutions by developing, configuring, customising, and piloting innovative tools, services and security management views to fight the abuse of postal and express courier flows for criminal and terrorist purposes.

PARSEC develops and tests three next-generation non-intrusive detection technologies (multi-energy photon counting detector, neutron-induced gamma-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction) and combine them into a detection architecture (= system-of-system) for optimal detection accuracy, speed and reliability.

Our team contributes to the user requirements and technical specifications as well as the dissemination of the project results.

PARSEC receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under the grant agreement No 101073963.
