Now that our vehicles are becoming (partially) autonomous it is important to reconsider their external interface (eHMI), so that other road users can anticipate an automated vehicle’s (Avs) intentions i.e., traffic manoeuvres. To make those intentions well-understood, understanding the reasons behind them must also be communicated. This assignment in cooperation with, and partially executed at, Nissan is to design an eHMI for Avs with this intent.
