Bulk viscosity from MD simulations
Bulk viscosity is often neglected in the Navier-Stokes equation, but close to the critical point this assumption is not correct: the bulk viscosity can be more than 100 times larger than the shear viscosity. Experimental data on the bulk viscosity is hardly available. Molecular dynamics simulations are carried out to calculate the bulk viscosity for both Lennard-Jones systems and real molecules.
