Volunteers of IBM's World Community Grid are helping TU Delft map sub-Saharan rainfall with unprecedented detail for an entire rainy season. This could yield a new forecasting methodology that benefits small farms.

De raad van bestuur van NWO heeft TBM professor Bartel Van de Walle benoemd als lid van de stuurgroep van WOTRO Science for Global Development. WOTRO is zeer verheugd om Van de Walle te mogen verwelkomen als nieuw lid van de stuurgroep, onder andere vanwege zijn bijdragen om wetenschap buiten de universiteitsmuren en in de samenleving te brengen. Aan de TU Delft is Van de Walle tevens lid van de stuurgroep van TU | Delft Global Initiative.

Na runner-up te zijn geworden in de competitie voor de Nederlandse James Dyson Award op 19 september, is IO-project Schistoscope afgelopen week opgenomen in de shortlist van 20 finalisten voor de wereldwijde James Dyson Award.
