Wakeboarding is a type of water sport, whereby the wakeboarder is attached to a line and pulled across the water. There are two ways to wakeboard: In the first version, the surfer is pulled along by a boat and uses the waves created by the boat to perform tricks. In the second, the surfer is pulled along by a cable system. Since there is no boat to create waves, the surfer uses obstacles which are positioned along the route to perform jumps and tricks. In principle, it is possible to perform the same tricks in both types of wakeboarding, only you will need to use a slightly different technique.

Board sports association DROP Delft organizes wakeboard training sessions in cooperation with X. DROP has a lot of enthusiastic members who wakeboard at all levels. This means that it is always easy to find someone who wakeboards at your level, and there is always someone who can teach you something.

The training sessions take place during the wakeboard season (April to early October) at the wakeboarding park in Alphen a/d Rijn. During the training sessions, you’ll learn how to do a water start and you can use the ramps and sliders in the water to practice tricks.

In addition to the standard training sessions, DROP Delft also regularly organises trips to other wakeboarding parks in the Netherlands and abroad.
