Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the world and was practised by the ancient Greeks and Romans. Ever since the modern Olympics started in 1896, wrestling has been a permanent part of the programme. The increasing popularity of MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other martial arts means that more and more people are realising that wrestling is a basis of many martial arts.

Olympic wrestling is a strength and combat sport that revolves around trying to pin your opponent. You win by pinning both of your opponent’s shoulders to the ground. To achieve this, wrestling demands a unique set of skills. Apart from good stamina, it is important to be strong, flexible and explosive.

During the course, you will learn the basics of Olympic wrestling and improve your strength, stamina, flexibility and agility.

You will start the training session with a warm-up, during which we will focus on strength and conditioning drills, acrobatics and gymnastics. After this, we will continue by performing wrestling drills and practising specific moves.

Your newly learned skills can be tested and practised at the end of the training with a few rounds of sparring.
