A linocut is a relief print produced in a manner similar to a woodcut, but using linoleum as the surface into which the design is cut and printed. Famous artists like Picasso used this method to create unique artworks.

Linocut is a printmaking method that involves carving a design into a sheet of linoleum. It is a similar technique to woodcutting, though with a wider range of creative possibilities. Transform your sketches into eye-catching prints!

This course teaches you how to create an artwork from start to finish using linocut techniques and introduces you to the essentials of printmaking. You'll go beyond traditional linocutting, learning basic carving techniques but also experimenting with innovative printing techniques. You’ll print on different mediums, such as fabric and plants, giving you the chance to see your designs come to life on a variety of surfaces.

Please bring some clothes you'd like to upcycle. By the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to print your unique designs on paper and fabric, breathing new life into old garments and creating personalised works of art to take home.
