Chamber music is music composed for small groups of classical musicians. Groups usually consist of anywhere from 2 to 8 people and are called ensembles. There are several common ensemble types, such as piano trios (violin, cello and piano) and string quartets (2 violins, a viola and a cello). There are even chamber music ensembles that consist solely of vocalists, like the SATB ensemble (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass). Although there are lots of common types, you can be as creative as you want. Playing in an ensemble is a lot more intimate than playing in a large orchestra or choir.
Do you play an instrument or are you singer and would you like to meet others to make music together? Come to the Ensemble Formation Gathering! There will be several rooms for all musicians during this special evening at X. And if you want to take a break, head to the bar to discuss what to play next or enjoy a drink.
This evening is organised in cooperation with Krashna Musika, who will provide plenty of sheet music and fun! Want to make sure you can make it, mark your calendar: 18 October 2024, 13 December 2024, 8 March 2024 and 16 May 2025.
