This summer you can follow one-day masterclasses during VitaminX, our summer programme! Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel and only using the hands, fingers and simple tools. Handbuilding can deliver a pleasingly organic look, but can also yield beautiful, refined results. This masterclass is part of our summer programme, VitaminX.
In this one-day course, you will learn to hand-build a vase with clay. Weather permitting, we will work outside and decorate our creations with things we can find around us such as leaves, plants and wild clay.

Rink Schilling
Rink Schelling is a young designer and graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy. Her passion lies in ceramics and she makes objects from home-grown clay from the Netherlands. Turning and modelling are her specialities. She works on her projects in her studio in Rotterdam.
