Vacancy Basketball Trainer/Coach at DSBV Punch at X TU Delft

The Delft Student Basketball Association, is currently looking for a coach for its Men's 1 team (level: second division) from the start of the upcoming 2024/2025 season.

Job description
As a basketball trainer and coach for Men's 1 at DSBV Punch, you are the driving force behind the team's success. You will be responsible for designing and implementing effective training programs, guiding players in their technical and tactical development, and inspiring a culture of dedication and teamwork. You will also be involved in the team player selection process.

As a coach for Men's 1, you will provide training twice a week for the team. The training sessions take place on Monday and Thursday evenings. The exact training hours are yet to be determined and will depend on the trainer's availability. During the training sessions, you ensure that the technique and condition of both individuals and the team remain at a high level, preparing them for the matches. You will also be present at the team's matches; which take place on Saturdays (in Delft or elsewhere). Men's 1 participates in competitive matches organized by the Dutch Basketball Association at the 2nd Division level.

You will be part of a dynamic and international working environment with motivated and enthusiastic students and colleagues.

Job requirements
We are looking for a passionate basketball coach with proven experience in training teams with players of various levels. You have a positive and motivating approach, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the game. More importantly, you share our values of respect, integrity, and ambition. Additionally, you have:

• affinity with students.
• proven experience in providing training and a minimum of a level 2 coaching license BT2 or JTB.
• a good command of the Dutch and/or English language, both spoken and written.
• enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment.

We offer you the opportunity to work as a freelancer under an established agreement or to work as a teacher through an agreement with the employment agency Unique.

X TU Delft
X is a place on campus where you can develop skills that are not always covered in academic programs but are invaluable. X focuses on the needs of young people and offers a variety of activities in sports, games, arts, crafts, reflection, and lifestyle. The offerings range from courses, ticket hours, events, and projects to, for example, free use of a student kitchen and living room, and the initiation of activities and/or programming by students themselves.

DSBV Punch
DSBV Punch was founded by students in 1961 and currently has more than 200 active members spread across 8 competitive men's teams, 3 competitive women's teams, and a non-competitive team. Our members train twice a week. Additionally, the teams compete on weekends. The trainings/coaching is given in English. All our members are motivated to improve their basketball skills and fight to win together.

DSBV Punch is a basketball association for students that offers both a sporting and a social aspect. The board and subcommittees organize various activities: parties, pub quizzes, drinks, BBQs, tournaments, and much more. This ensures that Punch members feel connected to the association, not only on the court but also off the court.

The TU Delft is the main sponsor of DSBV Punch and the employer of the teachers/trainers of the associations. The accommodation is, just as the trainers and additional material costs, being facilitated by the TU Delft.
