Marian Bosch-Rekveldt
People and their collaboration is key in solving tomorrow’s challenges. Our future engineers will work in collaborative projects, as a team member or a leader. With projects as the means to deliver value, I envision project management as the enabler for successful delivery of tomorrow’s solutions.
Background
Marian Bosch-Rekveldt is an Associate Professor in Project Management at the faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. Marian has a special interest in project complexity, front-end development, value improving practices, and people factors. To Marian, her PhD in project management was the means to an end. Namely, to pursue her passion for education as a university teacher, something she continues to do and enjoys every day. At the interfaculty MSc Construction Management and Engineering (CME), for instance, Marian stimulates her students to think about the broader context within which their technical innovation has value. She considers her role as a teacher to be “to guide and support students during their process of growth, discovering where they want to go with their graduation project for example”.
Towards IDEE
Given Marian’s passion for education and her expertise in the field of project management, the IDEE theme Future Engineering Skills strongly resonated to her. At CME, Marian has already done lots of work on the question of how to integrate future project management and leadership skills in engineering education. For Marian, IDEE offers an opportunity to continue working on these and other related questions with an interdisciplinary and interfaculty team of colleagues.
As part of IDEE
“One of the things I think is really great about IDEE is that it is a sign to the larger TU Delft community that education is truly important. Of course, now it is up to us to perform good educational research, but it is a step in the right direction in terms of the broader ongoing discussion on the recognition and rewards of academic efforts”.
Did you know that ...?
- The MSc Construction Management and Engineering is an interfaculty MSc as the joint effort of the faculties of Civil Engineering & Geosciences (CEG), Architecture & the Built Environment (ABE) and Technology, Policy & Management (TPM).
- There is a MOOC “Project Management: Mastering Complexity”. Of course, if you want to know more about the subject matter, you can also reach out to Marian herself by sending an email to M.G.C.Bosch-Rekveldt@tudelft.nl!
