Background
Hanieh Khodaei is an Assistant professor at the Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship (DEC), with a special interest in high-tech academic spin-offs development, sustainable and circular business models and business model dynamics. She enjoys teaching the MSc course Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship and Sustainability where she stimulates students to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset. As Hanieh explains, her courses focusses on empowering students’ entrepreneurial mindset such as proactivity, creativity and perceiving opportunities which contribute to educating new generations of socially responsible engineers.
Towards IDEE
Having experience, not only with academia, but also with company life, Hanieh brings both her transdisciplinary background and own entrepreneurial mindset to the IDEE theme team of Future Engineering Skills. Given her own passion for educating professional skills, she actively wants to be a part of the dialogue on what skills we need to teach now in order to educate TU Delft engineers that will be able to contribute to solutions of the challenges we are and will be facing in the coming years. Within the team, she is in the lead for the first work package/ the work package that will create an inventory of the skills that are already being taught at TU Delft. In addition, she will also be the supervisor of one of the post-doctoral researchers.
As part of IDEE
One of the things that Hanieh likes most about IDEE is the new network that has been created. She loves doing collaborative work with TU Delft colleagues from different discipline and faculties.
Hanieh’s ambition for the team is to become a centre of expertise within TU Delft on the topic of professional skills education: “Anyone with a question related to professional skills education will know where to find us. We’ll be able to share what we have discovered through the educational research that we will conduct in the years to come and already in some courses or programmes, you can find practical applications of the innovations we are going to design.”
