Extended HE support via Open Campus Essentials
TU Delft supports institutions facing educational challenges in the wake of COVID-19 by continuing to offer free online learning resources into 2022
Following on from the success of the Remote Access Program (RAP) last year, TU Delft has been supporting academic institutions worldwide by providing – through the Extension School of Continuing Education – a free, curated selection of MOOCs as part of edX’s Open Campus Essential initiative.
Launched in June last year, this has now been extended for a further year to June 2022, enabling more colleges and universities worldwide to provide their student with continuity of access to high-quality education, for longer.
“TU Delft contributes to solving global challenges by educating new generations of socially responsible engineers. We consider sharing knowledge and expertise globally as part of our university's mission to educate the world,” comments Willem van Valkenburg, Executive Director Extension School.
“Participating in edX's Online Campus Essentials is one of the ways in which we can increase access to high quality education for more people. The initiative expands our reach and brings us in contact with new audiences, additionally enabling us to incorporate learning from this experience to improve our online education offering”, he explains.
This type of educational support is of particular relevance at a time when the pandemic still affects thousands of institutions globally, as they face a lack of resources or technological solutions. The selected catalogue focuses on 10 specific subject areas and includes courses identified as of key importance for academic and career success.
