Call for new scientific members for IDEE
What’s IDEE?
The Initiative on Innovation in Delft Engineering Education (IDEE) is a university-wide programme at TU Delft, aiming to strengthen the capacity of innovation in engineering education. The goal is to create a more systematic and evidence-informed approach to educational innovation at TU Delft, and to ensure that the knowledge gained is documented and shared with the wider education community.
Within this initiative, scientific staff members from different faculties work in teams together with a learning developer, PhD candidate and a Postdoc researcher. Each team addresses an educational challenge and aims to make a meaningful impact through the implementation of new practices.
The launch of two new themes
This is the call for joining two new themes: Teaching and Learning in the Age of AI and The Transition from Secondary to Higher Engineering Education
More info on the themes is found on the website of the Teaching Academy.
Process going forward
-
- 23 September: Deadline the individual letter of intent, including preferred role (see section on Roles below)
- Start of October: Matching conversations with team representatives
- Half October – half November: 3 kick-off sessions (see below)
- Half November till 9 December: writing phase of the proposal (project plan)
- 9 December: Deadline proposal
- 16 December: IDEE Board meeting
- Before Christmas: teams receive feedback of the BOARD
In fall 2024, three sessions of 2 hours will be organized by the programme management to kick-start the themes and where your presence is needed. The goals of these sessions are to get to know each other and each other's motivations and ambitions, explore the themes' challenges and opportunities with different stakeholders, decide on a focus for the project together, and finally build the team. After these sessions, the team will write a proposal that the IDEE Board will provide feedback on.
