Profile
I am an assistant professor in the Policy Analysis section of the Faculty of Policy, Technology, and Management. My research is in systems modelling and simulation. The research aims to contribute to decision support at the personal and organisational levels in the context of the energy transition and other societal challenges. My favourite method is simulation gaming, but I also used other methods, such as discrete event simulation, agent-based simulation, and cybernetics. In simulation gaming experiments with human participants, I use questionnaires, interviews, and observation as the primary evaluation methods.
Academic background
I hold an MSc in Cognitive Science (University of Groningen, NL) and a PhD in Computer Science (Maastricht University, NL). I was a research student at the Department of Artificial Intelligence of the University of Edinburgh, UK.
