Profile
Biography
Eric Molin is an associate professor in Transport and Logistics. His main field of interest is behavioral modeling in transport. He is especially interested in multi-modal transport systems, new transport technology, and travel survey methods.
Eric received a PhD.degree at Eindhoven University of Technology (1999) and a Masters of Arts (Drs.) degree in Sociology at Radboud University, Nijmegen (1989). Previously he worked as a research fellow at Netherlands Statistics in Heerlen, Maastricht University and Eindhoven University of Technology.
Eric is the program leader of the NWO funded SAR research program on synchronizing networks. He co-chairs the subcommittee on Stated Response Surveys, part of the committee on Travel Survey Methods of Transportation Research Board (Washington DC). He is staff member of Trail Graduate School and co-theme leader research quality of the Delft Transport Institute.

1e prijs CVS prijzen 2012
De eerste prijs is dit jaar voor Tim Bunschoten, Eric Molin en Rob van Nes. Deze mythbusters hebben onderzocht of de legendarische "trambonus" bestaat. De gedachte is dat het omzetten van een bus naar tram leidt tot toename in reizigers, ook al blijft de uitvoeringskwaliteit verder hetzelfde. De auteurs bewijzen op uitermate zorgvuldige wijze dat de trambonus inderdaad bestaat, en welke factoren hiervoor verantwoordelijk zijn. De jury was unaniem in haar oordeel dat dit paper tot de beste papers van dit jaar behoorden.
