Profile

Aleksandar Giga teaches entrepreneurial finance and technology startup development. His work focuses on how to finance innovation and technology startups in spite of technical risks and lengthy product development. In his research, he assessed the impact of major US innovation policy programs and their capacity to advance technologies. In addition, he studied early-stage corporate strategy and its ability to attract investments as well as investment decision making. He is also interested in university technology transfer and academic spin-outs. Before TU Delft, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Office of Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Viterbi School of Engineering (University of Southern California), where he resided in a startup incubator and observed initiatives and programs that help students build and spin-out companies. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Economics (with honors) from the University of Pennsylvania.
