T.C. (Tim) Hammer MSc

Profile

Tim is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in cold region science and technology at the Offshore Section of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Delft University of Technology. His work focuses on ice-induced vibrations, particularly in the context of offshore wind turbines.

Tim has led and conducted experimental test campaigns involving both full-scale and small-scale structures in wave and current basins, wave channels, and ice tanks. Additionally, he has experience in conducting and leading in-situ field campaigns on sea ice.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Leibniz University Hannover in 2017, followed by a Master of Science in Hydraulic, Environmental, and Coastal Engineering with distinction in 2019. In 2024, he completed his PhD at Delft University of Technology with cum laude honors, focusing on ice-induced vibrations of offshore wind turbines.
