Suzanne studied Earth Sciences at the University of Amsterdam and has a PhD in geographical sciences from the University of Maryland. She worked on the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) space mission during my PhD and proposed a novel way of using the remotely sensed data for biodiversity mapping. Afterwards, she worked at Leiden University as program manager for the interdisciplinary liveable planet program and as a postdoc studying sustainable agriculture. She was promoted to assistant professor of environmental biology, studying, among other things, the use of artificial intelligence for earth observation data enhancements, impacts of dietary changes on the environment and how the Salvadoran coffee sector can become more sustainable to climate change.
