Biography

After completing my B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at USC, I worked in industry for several years on the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) program.  I also earned my M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at USC, during which I learned orbit determination and decided to return to school for a Ph.D. at the University of Colorado.  My Ph.D. studies focused on estimation techniques for space situational awareness, including multitarget filtering, initial orbit determination, and information-theoretic sensor management strategies.
I continued this work as a postdoc in Australia, first at RMIT University in Melbourne, and then at UNSW Canberra, where I developed sensor tasking software for an optical telescope network and operated and maintained optical telescopes to collect SSA data.  I also examined techniques to detect spacecraft maneuvers and to characterize space object attitude states from optical measurements, which were applied to data collected from cubesats launched and operated by UNSW Canberra Space.  I joined the faculty of TU Delft as an assistant professor in the Astrodynamics and Space Missions group in August 2022 where I am continuing to investigate practical solutions to the challenges posed by space debris tracking and characterization.
