Ir. R. (Romas) Zubavičius

Profile

Romas is a PhD candidate in the Integral Design & Management research group, which is part of the Department of Materials, Mechanics, Management & Design (3MD) at the Delft University of Technology. He started his PhD in May 2024, on an NWO-funded project Reliable nExt GENERation Actuation sysTEms (REGENERATE). His research focus is on probabilistic models to determine the likelihood of failure of actuation systems given realistic assumptions of stresses.

Research interests

My research interests intersect with electronics (sensors/devices), and AI (from classical machine learning to deep learning). I am interested in improving electrical devices utilizing a probabilistic and/or AI approach, encompassing, but not limited to defect inspection using computer vision/data analysis, and device characterization, in which using these results, assists in design and performance improvements.
