Biography
Natalia obtained her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2020 from Universidad de Los Andes (Bogota, Colombia). She moved to The Netherlands in August 2020 to start her Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering (Aerospace Structures & Materials track). She graduated in August 2022 after completing her thesis titled "The effect of the adherend's thickness on static ultrasonic welding of thermoplastic composites" under the supervision of Dr. Irene Fernandez Villegas. Since November 2022, she works as a PhD candidate at the Shaping Matter Lab under the supervision of Dr. Kunal Masania and Dr. Julie Teuwen. She is working on erosion-resistant living and architected materials to extend the lifetime of wind turbine blades.
