Biography:

Nadia is an assistant professor within the "
Ports and Waterways" group, department of " Hydraulic Engineering", CEG, TU Delft. She is the coordinator of Ports and Waterways Digitalization Lab. With a passion for advancing the field of data science, Nadia's research primarily revolves around the application of data-driven methodologies to address challenges in Ports and Waterways, as well as broader issues within the realm of Civil Engineering.

Before starting as an assistant professor, Nadia demonstrated her expertise as a postdoctoral research fellow in the same section. During this time, she was involved in a project titled "Circular Logistics in Amsterdam," which specifically delved into the intricacies of transitioning from roadway freight transport to waterway alternatives. Prior to that, Nadia completed her Ph.D. at Amirkabir University of Technology, where she conducted research on a topic closely related to her current field.

Research:


Nadia's research interests primarily lie in the intersection of Data Science, Optimization, and AI within the realm of ports and waterways. Her objective is to leverage these disciplines to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of port operations and waterway management. Central to her research is an impassioned exploration of digitalization and the concept of digital twins, aiming to create virtual representations mirroring real-world port and waterway systems. Her interests span beyond the confines of ports and waterways; she is also keenly focused on transforming the management and utilization of data within the Faculty of CEG. Through her research, Nadia aims to forge innovative solutions that not only address industry challenges but also contribute to the advancement of these fields in service to society.
