Biography

I am part of the research team that evaluates the impact of energy citizenships and mobilization actions for decarbonization (https://encludeproject.eu/). I possess key experience in policy-research-practice interface, with valuable contributions to the development of management planning in the Republic of Ireland, Algeria, Niger Republic and Ghana.

My research sits at the interface of water and energy nexus, focusing on policies, practices and impacts on community development. Having evolved from my PhD research on water governance and management in the Republic of Ireland, my research interest now focuses on climate change, its effects on the environment and citizen mobilization, stakeholder involvement in the Irish and African contexts and the connections between governance, policy implementations, and sustainable outcomes. Additional interest also lies in examining the role of state-led versus community interventions in shaping development and the relationships among various state stakeholders and interested parties. The outcome of this focus has stimulated policy interest and initiatives. The outcomes of my published and ongoing research serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, researchers, and students who are engaged in active research and fieldwork. Additionally, this work has fostered a spirit of inquiry that has attracted growing interest.

My main aim in teaching and learning is to guide students toward progressively more autonomous research as they progress through their academic pursuits. An essential aspect of achieving this goal is leveraging the enthusiasm and engagement of students to foster peer learning. To accomplish this, I emphasize dialogical, reflective, and experiential learning methodologies that facilitate understanding through active participation and application.
