Profile

Biography

Welcome to my profile! I'm a Civil Engineer and currently a PhD candidate at TU Delft. I started my PhD in March/2021 as part of the SUBLIME initiative (Sustainable Building Lime Applications via Circular Economy and Biomimetic Approaches), supported by the MSCA. I speak Portuguese, English, and Spanish (currently learning Dutch). Some of my interests include building materials, sustainability, research, and social development.

Expertise

My main study focus is the durability and sustainability of building materials. During my BSc. program (2012-2017), I studied the properties of piezo-concrete as a renewable energy source and my BSc. thesis consisted of structural fire designing a 40-story building. During my MSc. program (2018-2020), I investigated the effect of self-healing in the alkali-aggregate reaction and the supersulfated cement's durability properties. I studied the concrete behavior under sulfuric acid attack. My current research topic focuses on carbonatable binders, where I investigate the volume stability (shrinkage and creep) of air lime mortars.

Projects

Currently, I am a member of the Concrete Modeling and Materials Behavior (CMMB) research group at TU Delft (3MD) and a member of the SUBLime Project as an Early-Stage Researcher (ESR) .
