F. (Fatima) Delgado Medina
Profile
Fátima Delgado is an Ecuadorian with an economic/business and sustainable sciences background who has worked with indigenous, small farmers and gender-based grassroots organizations in Latin America for over 14 years. Through her own empirical experience, she defined herself to challenge the “colonial wound” and the voices surrounding the narrative of the work of the “Development & Aid” sector in the Global South, which has led to the contribution of new decolonial courses at the TU Delft educational setting, such as the “Beyond Development: Pluriverse for Sustainable & Impact” course, lectures, workshops and more. Fátima also teaches master courses such as Sustainable and Circular Entrepreneurship, Ideas to Start-up Climate Action, International Entrepreneurship Exchange, and more.
She also started her startup journey in 2019, collaborating with Cornell University. She created Sustainable Tapas, an educational community and platform looking to build up climate actions and knowledge to be transferred into skills to diverse organizations: local communities, universities, and startup ecosystems. She has a Ph.D. in Sustainability Science and Climate Change from the Polytechnical University of Catalunya. Her areas of expertise are:
- The latest knowledge and methods of sustainable entrepreneurship and circular economy: collaborative business model design, regenerative approach circular human
- Climate change analysis from a systemic-thinking approach ( e.g., ecological, social, agricultural, and economic frameworks).
- Research in ecosystem services, sustainable agriculture, emerging markets, and various methodological approaches.
- Research, management, and implementation of agribusiness with a participatory and collaborative approach.
- Techniques and methodologies in Data Science applied to climate change and sustainability sciences.
