Research interests

My research interests lie at the intersection of projects, engineering management and digital economy. In my recent work I'm continuing my 2022-2023 Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship (LTRF) and focus on the dual digital and green transition and how digitalisation can support the Triple Bottom Line of environmental, societal and economic sustainability in projects. Another strand of research I conduct focuses on my Project Management Institute (PMI)-funded project on the human aspect of digitalisation in projects and examines new talent in project management and psychological safety in engineering teams.

Academic background

Prior to joining the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at TU Delft, I worked for seven years at University College London (UCL) Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction (previously called Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management) as Assistant Professor (2016-2020) and Associate Professor (2020-2023). There, I was among others Founding Course Director of the MSc Digital Engineering Management, accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM).

My academic career started at TU Delft Faculty of Architecture, where I studied for my PhD in Design and Construction Management titled: "Alignment of Partnering with Construction IT" (2012-2016). I earned an MSc in TU Delft from the Hyperbody Research group, focusing on Digital Technologies in Architecture (2010-2012, Cum Laude). I also hold a Diploma of Engineering in Architectural Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) (2002-2008, Cum Laude).
