Dimitris Dermentzoglou (1992) acquired his Civil Engineering MEng diploma at the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki in 2016, specializing in Hydraulic Engineering. He worked in Greece for two years as a site engineer after which he moved to the Netherlands to continue with his studies. In 2021 he acquired his MSc degree in Hydraulic Engineering from TU Delft. Currently, he is a PhD student at the Coastal Engineering section involved with the "Living Dike" project. His research focuses on investigating the effectiveness of salt marshes in damping wave loading.
